Sexual Health Checks
If you are having sex then you should be having regular sexual health checks. Not all STIs show symptoms and therefore it's possible to be infected or to pass on the infection without knowing it! Sexual health checks are easy, confidential and are available from Clinic 87 Sexual Health Clinic or your local GP. Phone Clinic 87 (07) 5470 5244 (Nambour, Caloundra, Noosa and Maroochydore)
Launch of the 'Keep it Up!' campaign
The 'Keep it Up!' campaign from the Queensland Association for Healthy Communities (QAHC) aims to encourage connectedness within regional communities while also reinforcing and supporting safe sexual behaviours and regular STI testing among men who have sex with men (MSM).
The campaign stems from the need for a resource targeting men who have sex with men through the use of language and imagery that is appropriate for regional Queensland settings. The need was identified by the community, QAHC staff and regional service providers in response to the limited acceptability of gay/MSM campaign materials that talk to a city audience.
The campaign comprises of a pocket guide, fridge magnet, air freshener, and series of three posters each depicting a different regional Queensland setting, as well as extensive newspaper and internet advertising.
If you would like copies of the resource please either drop into the resource centre, phone QAHC on 5451 1118 or email kbishop@qahc.org.au
