Snapshot of the Sunshine Coast Pride Fair:

The Sunshine Coast Pride Fair began just last year in 2008. It was hosted by the Queensland Association for Healthy Communities and driven by a working group consisting of local community members, business owners and QAHC staff and volunteers. The inaugural fair was held at the Millwell Road Community Centre in Maroochydore and attracted participation from 50 stallholders and 817 visitors. Click here to view photos from 2008.

The Pride Fair aims to bring the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community, their friends and family together in a fun and supportive environment, to affirm and celebrate the community's diversity. It also provides an opportunity to raise awareness of local gay friendly health services, performers and businesses and to allow the LGBT community to gain access to information on health, sexuality and support services.

A huge part of the success of the inaugural Pride Fair is owed to the generous volunteer support from individuals and our sponsors - without their help the Sunshine Coast Pride Fair simply could not happen.

Due to the popularity of last year's Pride Fair, we are moving it to a larger and more modern venue, the Lake Kawana Community Centre on Saturday 24th October 2009. This year you'll see the addition of an after party, hosted by Pink Pineapple Productions as well as more surprises in store!
